WestJet makes inaugural flight between Calgary and Ixtapa today
CALGARY, Nov. 3 /CNW/ - WestJet today announced the launch of new, seasonal non-stop service between Calgary and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Mexico. The inaugural flight departs Calgary International Airport at 9:00 a.m. MT today.
"WestJet guests now have six Mexican destinations to choose from this winter," said Hugh Dunleavy, WestJet Executive Vice-President of Strategy and Planning. "A really popular choice for Canadian travellers, Ixtapa offers all the modern amenities of a full-service resort town, whereas the rest of the Zihuatanejo region is packed full of the traditions and flavours of authentic Mexico!"
WestJet will fly between Calgary and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo twice per week from now until May 1, 2010.
One-way fares, available in both directions on non-stop flights only, are available from $149, plus applicable taxes and fees.
WestJet flies non-stop from Calgary to some of the most beautiful sun destinations anywhere, including Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, and Orlando. As part of its 2009-2010 winter schedule,
WestJet is also adding service from Toronto to Freeport, Cozumel, Miami, St. Maarten, Cayo Coco, Holguin, Varadero, and Turks and Caicos, in addition to non-stop service from Vancouver to Kauai, Hawaii. One-way fares for Bahamas destinations start at $99, for Mexico at $129 and for the Caribbean at $145, plus applicable fees and taxes.
